Foreigners working in China who intend to apply for permanent residence, if they have a doctoral degree or are Foreign Chinese, there is no salary tax requirement. The most feasible way for foreigners working in China who do not fall into the above two categories to apply for permanent residence is through work income and taxes. How can foreigners whose annual wage income and personal income tax meet the prescribed standards apply for permanent residence in China? Here's a guidance for you.
01 Conditions of Applicants
Foreigners have been working in Guangdong for 4 consecutive years, and live no less than 6 months each year in China in recent 4 years; Annual salary income (before tax) exceeds 810,000 RMB for 4 consecutive years; Individual income tax is more than RMB 162,000 can apply permanent residence in Shenzhen after being recommended by the employer.
02 Materials
1. Application Form: Fill in the "Application form for permanent residence of foreigners in China (Employment and their spouses and children) in triplicate (the form can be collected in Shenzhen Exit-Entry Administration). The application form must be completed with a black pen or signature pen, and the applicant shall personally sign and submit the original;
At the same time, submit four recent two-inch photos with blue background (specification: 48 × 33 mm), attached a CD-ROM with electronic photo.
2. Passport:Submit original and copies of valid passport (The photo page of the passport must be translated by a translation company) and visa;
3. Health Certificate:Health certificate issued by Shenzhen Port Hospital or issued by a foreign health and medical institution certified by Chinese embassies or consulates abroad (Valid for six months from the date of issuance).
4. Non-criminal Records:Non-criminal Record Certificate issued whithin 6 months from applicaition date and must be authenticated by the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad or an Apostille institute. Non-criminal Record cerfitificate must be issued by relavant national-level competent authority. Chinese translation by a translation company is needed;
5. Resume:The resume of the applicant should be from the age of 18 to the present and be continuous between the year and month. The resume shall specify in detail the birth information, the identity of leaving the country in a certain year and month, when and where to obtain permanent residence in a foreign country, and when and where to become a foreign nationality if the applicant has ever had Chinese nationality. And provide:
①"Certificate of renunciation of Chinese nationality" or certificate of cancellation of original domestic household registration.
② Chinese passport used when going abroad to study or settle abroad (based on the nationality marked with a foreign passport);
③ Certificate of Entry of Foreign Nationality (Translation required).
If the applicant holds a Hong Kong or Macao identity card at the same time, he or she is required to provide a "statement of not having Chinese nationality" issued by the Hong Kong or Macau Immigration Administration. If there is another contact person, a copy of the contact person’s identity certificate is required.
6. Income Certificate:The original salary and income certificate issued by the employer for 4 consecutive years before the date of application;
7. Individual Income Tax Certificate:Individual income tax certificate issued by the Tax Authority (the tax payment period should be 4 consecutive years before the application date)
8. Recommendation Letter:The original letter of recommendation issued by the current employer (the letter of recommendation should indicate that the applicant has worked in Guangdong for 4 years, the annual income and the annual individual income tax meet the prescribed standards, and clearly recommend his application);
9. Foreigner Work Permit:Foreigner work permit's valid period of time should be 4 consecutive years before the application date, and the relevant information such as the employer, position and personal situation on the certificate should be consistent with the relevant certificates such as the employment certificate).
10. Company's Registration Certificate:The registration certificate (such as a copy of business license, organization code, etc.) and annual inspection certificate of the employer (the original copy of the business license was stamped with the annual inspection stamp, but now it is also available to print the annual inspection report submitted by the enterprise on the special website. The valid period shall be 4 consecutive years before the applicant’s application); if the employer is a foreign-invested enterprise, the foreign-invested enterprise approval certificate and joint annual inspection certificate shall also be submitted (the valid period shall be 4 consecutive years before the applicant’s application date, and corresponding to the applicant’s tenure).
11.Information about the applicant's immediate relatives (fill in all the immediate relatives: parents, spouses, children, siblings)
The information of immediate relatives must be detailed: kinship, name, gender, international, valid certificate and certificate number, current employer and position or current school attendance, and current residence.

Besides 1 to 5, spouse must provide following documents:
6. Marriage certificate or notarized proof of marital relationship; documents issued abroad shall be certified by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in that country or an Apostille institute, and the time of issuance shall be within six months prior to the date of acceptance;
7.Spouse’s valid passport and Permanent Resident ID card; if spouse applies at the same time, noneed to submit.

Documents issued abroad must be certified by the Chinese Embassy in the home country or an Apostille institute;
5.Proof of parents' marital relationship
Documents issued abroad must be certified by the Chinese Embassy in the host country or an Apostille institute;
6. Proof of identity of both parents
Foreign parents must submit a valid passport and one parent's Permanent Resident ID Card; those who apply at the same time as their parents do not need to submit.If one parent has Chinese nationality, submit his/her ID card, family register and the page of the spouse's family register, a Chinese passport and a certificate of permanent residence abroad (which must be translated by a translation company and must have been obtained before the applicant's birth;
7.Parents’ resumes.
