On June 14, the Chinese Doctors Association (hereinafter referred to as "our Association") was invited to participate in the academic symposium on the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Doctoral Program of International Relations of Macau University of Science and Technology (Macau University of Science and Technology). The purpose of this symposium is to review the establishment process of the International Relations Doctoral Degree Program, summarize the experience of running the International Relations Doctoral Degree Program, explore the training path for doctoral students majoring in International Relations in Macau universities under the "one country, two systems" policy, and expand the influence of the International Relations Doctoral Degree Program at the University of Macau.
The maintenance of international relations does not only rely on the government, but non-governmental organizations also play an indispensable role in it. Since its establishment in 1945, the United Nations has been actively engaged with non-governmental organizations, recognizing that in order to advance the ideals of the organization and promote support for its work, partnerships with non-governmental organizations are necessary. In 1946, only 41 non-governmental organizations obtained consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). But this number has increased, and today, thousands of non-governmental organizations have obtained consultative status with the Economic and Social Council.
Consultative status is the formal relationship between non-governmental organizations and the United Nations, through which non-governmental organizations can participate in the work of the United Nations. The Economic and Social Council has a formal framework for the participation of non-governmental organizations, which is the only main entry point for non-governmental organizations to enter the United Nations system.
In recent years, our association has deeply participated in relevant activities such as UN consultations and economic commissions, actively participated in international affairs, voiced China's voice, and made China's contributions.
